The Missions Ministries Committee
We believe that a church should look outside its own four walls in order to serve its
community, its region, and the world.

This is done in several ways:

1% of all giving to Bethesda Lutheran Church is set aside into a missions fund.  This
money is donated to causes locally, regionally, and internationally.

There are special projects that individuals can donate to throughout the year.

We raise $5,000 per year to support missionaries, Patrick and Jacqueline
    Bencke, in Japan.

Our goal is to raise $4500 to help the local food shelf in March.   Each year the
need grows and each year we work hard, especially during the month of
March, to raise funds to make sure that people here at home stay fed.

In addition to these outreach causes, the Mission Ministries Committee helps
organizations with smaller donations.  Some of this money is raised through a “noisy
offering", a loose change offering, taken  the second weekend of each month.

Other activities include putting together health kits each fall, and organizational work
with Kids Against Hunger.

If you would be interested in joining the Mission Ministries group, we meet the 1st
Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m.  The meeting usually lasts 45 minutes to an
hour.   We would enjoy your company.
