Confirmation is a three-year program for 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students.
The students study the Bible, the Small Catechism, and Church History in a rotating three year study. Bible study and speaker events are given so that the students might come to understand the faith in which they were baptized, the place of the church in the lives of their family and friends, and come to the point when they can “confirm” that faith as their own.
Confirmation meets Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.
Friends in Faith (formerly called Mentors) are given to each student to walk through these three years together. It is recommended that these friends be adult members of the congregation who are not related to the student, so that the student gains access to another faith witness in the congregation. The student and friend participate in a variety of activities and service projects throughout the year — designed to help them grow in both faith and friendship.
